Camps #1 and #2 - Engage in STEM

This year UNA will host two 3 day/2 night summer STEM camps for high school students at the University of North Alabama. The UNA Summer STEM Camp “Engage in STEM” will take place June 5-7 and June 7-9. Teachers participating in this year's CPR^2 Professional Learning may nominate up to two students with interest in STEM to attend the camp at minimal cost. The nomination form is on line at www.cpr2.org.

The UNA Summer STEM Camp “Engage in STEM” is designed for high achieving high school students. Rising juniors, juniors, and seniors may participate. The 3 day/2 night residential camps will incorporate project-based learning, will promote scientific inquiry and the application of mathematics and technology in the context of experimental design, problem solving, technical briefing and report writing. This summer, topics include robotics, astronomy, computer programming, and mathematical applications. Students will build confidence, competence, and community through STEM activities. Students will stay in a university dorm and eat meals on campus.

All camp instructors are members of the UNA math and computer science faculty and camp counselors are math and computer science students.
